Postgraduate studies

IMES provides postgraduate training through a wide range of degrees suiting the interests of students with a variety of career goals. UK and international students find the range of academic topics offered at IMES, as well as the significant resources and opportunities available in the University of Edinburgh and the historic city of Edinburgh, to provide a compelling setting for pursuing postgraduate study in IMES MSc or PhD programmes.

IMES degrees offer opportunities for interdisciplinary study and students may work between IMES and other subject areas across the university as appropriate. IMES postgraduates currently comprise a global body researching a wide range of topics. Postgraduates take part in a vibrant student life, including seminars, talks, conferences and collaborations within IMES and across the university.

Recent postgraduates have gone on to find employment in international organisations, the private sector, as well as securing posts in prominent universities, among other positions.
